About Lisa Lowe Ceramics

Lisa Lowe worked for big Swindon-based businesses like Zurich and Nationwide before she discovered a new hobby that would change her life forever. Lisa took pottery classes as an escape from work and got hooked, then she built up more equipment like the kiln and potters wheel and decided to just go for it full-time.

By transforming a shed in her back garden into a workshop filled with all the supplies and equipment she needed, Lisa started her own business. The name came from what people said when they saw what Lisa was making, so many of them went 'Ooh, lovely!', it made her laugh and Ooh Lovely Lilo Ceramics was born and is still going strong.

Today when I am making, my starting point is to put on the radio do a happy dance and then either start rolling out the clay or wedging clay balls for throwing. My favourite days are experimental days where I try new things and play.
