Following the threatened closure of VHL in March this year and its subsequent rescue thanks to a wave of public support, we have determined to make greater use of the Art & Craft Center to offer a range of out of shop hours workshops. We hope that a number of our makers will offer their time and skills to expand the scope of what we can offer as time goes on.

Visit Highworth kicks off the programme of Art and Craft workshops in June with “Paint and Prosecco” on the 25th June. Join local artist Christine Purdy for an evening of watercolours and create your very own painting of an owl. No experience is required and all materials are provided. You will also be able to enjoy a cheeky tipple to help along the creative process. The session runs from 7pm to 9pm and costs £35 per person.


There is also a Jewellery workshop with the theme of “Sensational Spirals” which will be held on the 23rd June and again on the 28th June. Join local artist and designer Ann March for this workshop and create some fun jewellery for the summer. No experience is required and all tools and materials are provided. Workshops will be held from 7pm to 9pm on Monday 23rd June or from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday 28th June. The cost is £40 per person (over 16s only).

As our Art & Craft Centre has limited space, and also to keep things manageable for our tutors, places on workshops will be limited so if you fancy having a go early booking is advised.
